Large solar cross wheat wreath

This beautiful and intricate original design is a representation of the ancient Solar cross sun symbol. The piece is made from 2 layers of maris widgeon wheat straw, approximately 200 stems that are plaited and sown onto a metal wreath ring.The wreath incorporates traditional straw craft plaiting techniques to create a modern design and dried flax seed heads and 5 protective gods eye motifs adding detail and texture to the piece.

The wreath measure 50cm in diameter and can be hung via the cord hoop on the back of the design.
