St Brigid Cross 🌾 Imbolc decoration with bells🌾
The St Brigid Cross originates from Ireland and is traditionally made on the 1st February. Traditionally made from straw or reeds the design was made and hung in the home for protection. The design also has close associations with the pagan celebration of Imbolc and the Goddess Brigid. When hung in the home it is said to protect against fire. I make the piece from 28 stems of UK grown straw it measures approx. 20cm x 20cm.
I have added small metal bells to this design for added protection, and the ribbon colour can be chosen in the ordering process. The ribbon is tied in a loop for hanging the design.
Making & delivery times: lead times can be 5 days to make and send.

Caring for your straw: straw work can last for decades, but it is important to keep them dry and away from damp places.
