The Corn Mother is a new design but rich in ancient symbolism. She is a representation of the grain goddess Ceres and the spirit of the grain. She symbolises the female form, fertility and abundance. She has a head of wheat and oats, spiral outstretched arms and bountiful skirt decorated with a straw bow. Corn dollies like this were made from the final sheaf of wheat from the years harvest and were said to house the spirit of the grain.
The design measuring 35-40 cm high and made from 80- 100 stems of Maris Widgeon wheat and golden oats.
